HOW TO REFILL CARTOMIZERS

If you have decided to fill your own cartomizers, you can buy E-Liquid flavors pre-mixed at E-Liq , eSmoke, ,V2 CIGS ,or Volcano Fine Electronic Cigarettes..   You can also buy the separate ingredients and mix your own. (See E-Liquid Mixing Information .)  There are a few different ways to refill your cartomizers.

Drip Method

This is the  method I use. It will take a little longer but it will use less liquid and is less messy.

Start by taking the tip off of the cartomizer with a small screwdriver or paper clip.

If your cartomizer has a small plastic ring, remove it too.  You should see filler material (sometimes called poly fill) with a small hole in the middle like this.

Tilt the cartomizer slightly and drip a few drops of your E-Liquid down the side. the filler will absorb the liquid.  Turn cartomizer 1/4 turn and repeat all the way around.  You are trying to saturate the filler material while avoiding getting liquid in the center hole.  If you do get some liquid down the hole, just blow liquid out on either end while holding a tissue over the opposite end.  Then clean the metal connection end very good.

Replace tip and you are ready to use your refilled cartomizer.
 

Injection Method

Remove tip as in the drip method.  With a needle and syringe, insert needle in filler material and inject a small amount.  Take needle out and repeat in 4 or 5 places.  Avoid the center hole and don’t push needle all the way to the bottom.

The problem with this method is that the E-Liquid is thick and it is hard to inject with a normal needle.  They do make larger diameter needles which would probably work better.

Cap Filling Method

Although I don’t recommend using this method, it might be quicker but you waste liquid and have to be sure that you clean the end that connects to your battery.  If this end isn’t cleaned well, you can ruin your battery.  Another down side to this method is that sometimes you get liquid on your lips because the cartomizer is a little full.  Some cartomizers have tips that can’t be removed.  In this case, the Cap Filling Method is ideal.

Fill the plastic cap that came on your new cartomizer 1/2 to 3/4 full of E-Liquid.

Slowly press the threaded end of the cartomizer into the cap.

If you see liquid coming out the other end, the cartomizer is full.

Remove cartomizer from cap, clean cartomizer, and blow excess liquid out while holding a tissue on the opposite end.

As I said before, it is very important that you clean the connection end very thoroughly.
